BGC Director Receives Honor for research excellence:

Michael W Nicholson received the award for best paper presented at the annual conference for the Kentucky Economic Association.  Dr Nicholson's paper Quantifying Antitrust Regimes provides innovative techniques for establishing empirical analysis of competition policy in multiple jurisdictions and has provided the foundation for further research by notable academics and private foundations.

Recent Publications:

Dr. Nicholson's paper, "An Empirical Analysis of Antitrust/Competition Policy", co-authored with Kyle Stiegert and Danny Sokol, will be published this fall by Palgrave-Macmillan in an edited volume on international competition policy.

Dr. Nicholson's paper, “An Antitrust Law Index for the Empirical Analysis of International Competition Policy,” will be published later in 2008 in the Journal of Competition Law and Economics.

Dr. Nicholson's paper, "Technical Assistance for Law and Economics", co-authored with Kyle Stiegert and Danny Sokol, is forthcoming in the edited volume Politics Trumps Economics: Lessons and Experiences on Competition and Regulatory Regimes from Developing Countries, Palgrave-Macmillan.
